Engineered Embroidered Leather

All nine faces of the eight dining room chairs are embroidered leather, giving dual challenges of pattern matching and working on leather. It stretches and shrinks when worked. With too many stiches it splits apart. With too few stitches the design looks skimpy. Stitches must be perfectly placed. Any misplaced needle perforation cannot be healed or repaired. In collaboration with the designer and upholstery workroom, we embroidered this deliciously elegant set with the right balance of pattern, design, stitch density, colors, and luck.
